Leasing/Office Assistant 

JSM is a vastly growing leasing and development firm hiring for a full-time Leasing/Office Assistant located in Champaign, IL. Under direct supervision of the Leasing Manager, the Leasing/Office Assistant ensures the completion of all daily Residential leasing operations. The Leasing/Office Assistant will represent JSM in a professional manner and be a primary point person assisting the part-time leasing agents with their duties. The essential functions of this position are listed below:

  • Warmly greet and professionally address customers and visitors.  Ensure properties and leases are properly and professionally presented as the primary point of contact
  • Complete all leasing office and customer service related activities. May include but not limited to scheduling appointments, key creation and disbursement, lease preparation, lease signing and execution, subleasing, greeting customers, answering phones, filing, etc.
  • Tracking, updating, organization, and entry of all leasing related information and reports
  • Assist the Office Manager with residential operations based on seasonal events. Some examples may include checking room vacancies during turnover, key check in during move-in, etc.
  • Assist the Leasing Manager with the oversight of JSM Residential part-time staff and functions. Provide the primary point of assistance for part-time staff with any leasing questions or concerns they may have

Minimum qualifications requested of this position include: bachelor’s degree or equivalent, minimum of 2 years relevant office, reception, and/ or sales experience, excellent skills in written and verbal communication, professional attitude, appearance, attire, and language, a valid Illinois Driver’s License, and the ability to work independently and under pressure in a multi-task environment. The candidate must be people- oriented, well- organized, and have demonstrated ability to understand and comply with applicable Fair Housing Laws. The Leasing/Office Assistant may be required to work weekends based on part- time staffing and seasonal requirements. Salary will be based on prior experience and will include full benefits.

Part-Time Furniture/Maintenance Helper 

JSM is a vastly growing leasing and development firm hiring for a self-motivated and organized part-time Furniture/Maintenance Helper to join our team! This opening offers a rare opportunity to join a growing organization and a department focused on personal and career development. 

Under direct supervision of the Facilities and Services Supervisor, the part-time Furniture/Maintenance Helper is a primary aid in the completion of daily maintenance operations. Ideal candidates have excellent leadership, problem solving, and planning/organization skills. 

Job responsibilities may include but are not limited to: furniture removal and installation, warehouse organization and management, maintenance and landscaping assistance, demolition, etc. Minimum qualifications requested of this position include: a valid Illinois driver's license, periodic on-call availability, and the ability to work under pressure in a multi-task environment. Salary will be based on prior experience.

Part-Time Leasing Agent

Looking for a part-time position to explore your interest in a Real Estate or Property Management career? This may be the opportunity you are searching for! JSM is a vastly growing leasing and development firm hiring for a self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Part- Time Leasing Agent who is able to multi task and has great communication and sales skills!

Under direct supervision of the Leasing Manager, the Part- Time Leasing Agent will represent JSM in a professional manner and be a primary point person to aid in the completion of all daily Residential leasing operations. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: scheduling appointments for prospective tenants, taking prospective tenants on tours, selling the apartment, and following up after the sale. Part-time Leasing Agents also field incoming calls and assist tenants as they arrive at the office. Our Leasing Agents are routinely involved with a customer's first interaction with JSM. Due to this, it is our expectation that they provide the highest level of customer support!

In addition to a base hourly rate of pay, our Leasing Agents can earn supplemental compensation in the form of commissions and incentives! Ideal candidates will have Saturday availability and may be able to work as many as 30 hours per week.
